But as usual, VPL1 did its best to upstage the top flight, with the game of the season unfolding at Lawton Park, North Geelong and Georgies staging outrageous comebacks against high-flying Northcore and Western United, and the youth Melbourne Derby turning into a 6-goal thriller.
